Posted March 08, 2019 15:24:37The NYPD has arrested a New York Police Department officer for allegedly attacking a woman who he said tried to kiss him on the cheek in the subway last month.
According to the New York Post, the incident occurred on April 3 when the NYPD responded to a complaint from a woman that she was being followed by two men.
The woman was walking to her car when she allegedly approached the officer, who was also walking with her, the Post reported.
The officer allegedly grabbed her and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground, the newspaper reported.
The Post said the officer said he “felt threatened” by the woman’s behavior and was trying to stop her from walking away.
The NYPD declined to comment.
The incident comes after the NYPD began a series of new initiatives targeting violent crime and harassment in the city.
