Breaking News broke on May 25th, 2017 that the New York Giants are willing to part with their 2018 first-round draft pick, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The deal could be worth $1.4 million.
With the Patriots’ cap situation already in flux, the Patriots are clearly in a tough spot.
They’ve been unable to re-sign any of their key players and have been unable or unwilling to reacquire running back Dion Lewis, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, wide receiver Deion Branch, defensive end Chandler Jones, cornerback Malcolm Butler, and defensive tackle Dontay Moala.
Rapoporrent also reported that the team has already contacted free agent cornerback Joe Haden, and he’s reportedly open to playing somewhere in New England.
This move could give the Patriots a major boost in free agency and possibly open the door for them to sign an unrestricted free agent.
Rapaport added that the deal is worth $500,000 per year.
